Private forestry stakeholders organized an exposure visit for the Ministry of Finance taskforce for tax reforms, towards understanding the role of commercial forestry in competitiveness-led export growth as part of the Tanzania five-year development plan.

Environmental Conflict Resolution — University of Eastern Finland

AF participated in the international online course on environmental conflict resolution. “Collaborative governance may be the solution to most of the challenges we are facing in the sector. I hope that I can apply these methods through people-public-private dialogues and partnerships,” highlights Kikolo R. Mwakasungula, one of the course attendees from the African Forestry organisation.

Antony Finch — Down Memory Lane

Anthony Finch led the team that did the 1991 feasibility study on establishing teak plantations in the Kilombero valley. His report led to the founding of KVTC in 1992. Now retired, in this documentary he shares his experience and how he sees commercial forestry in Tanzania.
